मङ्गलाचरण
Mangalacharan which is recited at the beginning of any pooja. It is a general prayer acknowledging all the principle dieties and seeking their blessings.
Mangalacharan - a mantra that connects the speaker and the Infinite, the Infinite and the speaker.
गुरू ब्रह्मा, गुरू विष्णु, गुरू देवो महेश्वरः - गुरुस्साक्षाथ परम ब्रह्मा तस्मै श्री गुरावे नामः ॥
Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwaraha - Gurussaakshaath Param Brahma Tasmai Shree Gurave Namaha
Guru is Brahma, Guru is Vishnu, Guru is Maheshwara (Shiva), Guru is Supreme Brahman Itself Prostration unto that Guru
वक्र-तुण्ड महाकाय सूर्यकोटि समप्रभ, निर्विघनम कुरुमेदेव सर्व कार्येषु सर्वदा ॥
Vakra tunda mahaakaaya Surya koti sama prabha Nirvighnam kuru me deva Sarva kaarye-shu sarvadaa
O Ganapati, One with a curved trunk, a large body, and a brilliance equal to a crore (10 million) suns! O God, please make all my undertakings free from obstacles always.
शुक्लां ब्रह्मविचारसारपरमा माद्या जगद्व्यापिनीं
वीणापुस्तकधारिणीमभयदां जाड्यान्धकारापहाम् ।
हस्ते स्फाटिकमालिकां च दधतीं पद्मासने संस्थितां
वंदे तां परमेश्वरीं भगवतीं बुद्धिप्रदां शारदाम् ॥
